The Army Distance Learning Program (TADLP) TADLP is the US Army's innovative approach to training military personnel. TADLP makes use of integrated messaging and Web application technologies to bring the instructor and educational resources to the student, rather than requiring the student to travel to a central location for training purposes. TADLP provides an environment that supports involvement of student/instructor interaction dynamically, as well as self-paced student instruction. This ongoing program will yield over 700 distance learning facilities worldwide in support of US Army active, reserve, and national guard personnel. ACS is responsible for digital facility design and construction, desktop hardware and software, network connectivity worldwide, system security, student collaboration, site management, and enterprise help desk operations. Based on an in-depth analysis of the primary technologies used in distributed education and customer support the following solutions were selected for TADLP: Remedy Help Desk, Asset Management, and Change Management Tivoli Distributed Monitoring, Inventory Management, Software Distribution, and Remote Control Microsoft NT Enterprise and SQL Server Database Axent Raptor Firewall, NetProwler, and Intruder Alert Cisco Works IBM NetFinity Manager Image Cast IC3 ACS oversees all program activities and provides total accountability for TADLP transnational. U.S. Census Bureau ACS Systems & Engineering provides on-site troubleshooting and maintenance support for the Bureau of the Census. Diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, installation, repair, and testing of computer workstations and related peripherals is provided. ACS personnel replace parts, manage materials and tools, test equipment necessary to inspect, repair/restore, or maintain equipment in operating condition as per OEM recommended standards. Asset Management - maintains equipment, warranty tracking, maintenance inspection records, parts replacement, manufacturer profiles, and physical inventory locations. Go to top GSA Central Office ACS Systems & Engineering provided services for the modernization and upgrade of the existing networks and cable plant infrastructure. The modernization and upgrade included the installation of network hardware and cable plant material to enhance network performance. Go to top U.S. Navy Public Works Center, Norfolk Va. ACS Systems & Engineering provides on-site maintenance of government-owned Honeywell ADP equipment. Technicians installed the current network and maintain the fiber backbone and all associated hardware. ACS conducts hardware and LAN installation and performs configuration management of existing systems. Help desk support is provided to assist customers with fault analysis and training as required. ACS maintains the inventory/material control management of all test equipment, repair/spare parts and consumables. Task effort included: LAN/WAN design, material procurement, installation, maintenance, and service. Defining communication requirements and design communication linkages and networks. Analysis of end user and LAN/WAN connectivity requirements. Detailed cost analysis, reports, and schematics for the network infrastructure. Site coordination Go to top Naval Surface Warfare Center ACS Systems & Engineering provides engineering, logistical, and technical support services to accomplish alterations and modifications of Naval shipboard systems and equipment onboard U.S. Naval ships. Go to top Sentara Health System ACS Systems & Engineering was contracted for the analysis, design, and installation of the Sentara Health System LAN/WAN network, along with 11 remote sites throughout Southeastern Virginia. ACS provided all equipment and materials and was responsible for maintenance of the AutoCAD central documentation system. This effort included network design and installation, logistics support, on-site installation, and systems maintenance and troubleshooting support.
